Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate CalorieAI:

Supabase: Cloud database provider that stores your account information, food logs, weight data, and app preferences. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
OpenAI: AI service provider that processes your food descriptions to estimate calories and macronutrients. Food text is sent to OpenAI's API but is not used to train their models per OpenAI's API data usage policy.
Google Gemini: AI service provider used to process food descriptions for nutritional estimation. Food text is sent to Google's Gemini API. Data sent via the API is not used to train Google's models per Google's API data usage policy.
RevenueCat: In-app purchase and subscription management service that handles billing for premium features.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share data with the service providers listed above, and only to the extent necessary to provide CalorieAI's features. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Export your data in a machine-readable format
Withdraw consent for data processing

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen. Deleting your account will permanently remove all your personal data, food logs, weight history, and preferences from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

CalorieAI is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using CalorieAI, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.
